Kia UK has announced new special-edition ‘Horizon’ models for the Kia EV6 and Niro EV, adding to the broad appeal of each EV. Sitting alongside the existing Niro EV and EV6 line-ups, ‘Horizon’ models boast a comprehensive standard equipment list at an affordable price point.
The EV6 ‘Horizon’ is positioned just above the entry level ‘Air’ model, and below the sportier ‘GT-Line’ models. Above the standard equipment on the ‘Air’ model, the ‘Horizon’ adds several features:
The on-the-road price also includes premium paint as standard, with a choice of three finishes for customers to choose from: Midnight Black, Interstellar Grey, or – new for the EV6 – Gravity Blue. The interior is trimmed in black artificial leather as standard, and features 19-inch grey alloy wheels.
The EV6 ‘Horizon’ is offered exclusively with a 225bhp rear-wheel drive powertrain, paired with a long-range 77.4kWh battery pack. It’s capable of driving up to 328 miles on a single charge (WLTP combined cycle)**. The EV6 ‘Horizon’ also offers ultra-rapid 800V charging technology, enabling the car to recharge from 10-80 per cent in just 18 minutes*** when plugged into a 350kW charger.
The Niro EV ‘Horizon’ slots into the Niro EV line-up between the entry-level ‘2’ grade and mid-level ‘3’ grade. Like the EV6 ‘Horizon’, it benefits from a wide variety of additional standard equipment over the entry model, including:
It also offers premium paint as standard within the on-the-road price, with customers choosing from Mineral Blue, Interstellar Grey or Midnight Black, paired with gloss black body cladding. The Niro EV ‘Horizon’ rides on 17-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Like the rest of the Kia Niro EV line-up, the ‘Horizon’ model is offered with a 64.8kWh battery pack, capable of up-to 285 miles on a single charge, according to the WLTP combined cycle**. Paired with a 150kW electric motor sending power to the front wheels, the Niro EV offers efficient running with smooth and spritely performance.
The Kia EV6 and Niro EV both form a crucial part of Kia’s global plan of having 15 EVs on sale by 2027, and are sold in the UK alongside the Soul EV and all-new EV9. The introduction of the new ‘Horizon’ models ensures even more choice and value to UK customers considering making the switch to fully electric motoring.
