Kia UK has once again been crowned ‘Carmaker of the Year’ at the prestigious Motor Trader Industry Awards 2025, marking a remarkable third consecutive win for the brand.
The accolade was announced at a ceremony held on 19 November at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, attended by senior leaders from across the UK automotive sector.
The judging panel praised Kia for its award-winning product line-up, dealer-first business strategy, and continued leadership in electrification.
The Motor Trader Industry Awards Judging Panel commented: “Kia took the Carmaker of the Year Award for its strong relationship with dealers, profitability of the franchise, the extensive training it offers dealers and its excellent EV range. It continues to innovate with the launch of its electric PBV range. A compelling package.”
Paul Philpott, President and CEO at Kia UK, accepting the award said: “To be named Carmaker of the Year for the third-year running is a tremendous honour and achievement. It’s a direct reflection of the strength of our dealer partnerships, which we work tirelessly to ensure are mutually beneficial. In another year shaped by the ZEV mandate and shifting consumer expectations, our network has risen to every challenge with resilience, creativity and collaboration.
On top of a year with numerous new product launches, this year also saw the introduction of an entirely new part of our business, commercial vehicles. This has seen our dealer partnerships and network grow into new areas with new customers, and has further strengthened our brand and reputation in the UK.”
Kia’s 2025 win reflects a year of record-breaking dealer engagement and sales performance, with the brand on track to once again surpass its annual UK sales records.
New products have been at the heart of Kia’s success, with the first full year of sales of the Kia EV3, a model that has won important industry recognition and awards, including being named the 2025 UK Car of the Year and World Car of the Year.
In addition, 2025 sees Kia launch several notable new models including the fully electric EV4 and EV5. Additionally, the K4 brings a brand-new model to the C-segment, while the EV9 GT adds high performance to the already powerful EV9. New versions of the EV6 GT, Stonic and the brand’s global phenomenon, the Sportage also make their debuts this year.
This year sees the launch of Kia’s brand-new PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) commercial vehicle business, which begins with Kia’s first dedicated electric light commercial vehicle, the PV5.
Supporting Kia PBVs in the UK is a brand-new network of PBV Centres, which are already open for business across the UK. These dedicated centres offer sales and aftersales to Kia PBV customers, ensuring a consistent, focused and professional service.
In November, UK dealerships once again ranked Kia as the number one volume franchise in the UK. The latest NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey (DAS) underscored Kia’s success having been ranked in the top three for the past 19 successive surveys.
