We have some exciting news to share. This June 12th and 13th, Shelly Motors is proud to be supporting ChoirBLAST 2026, one of Surrey’s most joyful community music festivals.
As a family-run Kia dealership based in Epsom, we are delighted to be sponsoring the festival by loaning a selection of electric vehicles to help power parts of the event. These vehicles will not simply be on display. They will be actively supporting the festival by providing power for stages and food vendors through a technology called Vehicle-to-Load, or V2L.
V2L allows compatible electric vehicles to share their battery power with other equipment. In simple terms, it means the cars can work like quiet, clean generators, helping to power parts of the festival without relying on traditional diesel generators.
ChoirBLAST is proudly rooted in Godalming, a town surrounded by beautiful green spaces, riverside walks, meadows, trees and wildlife. It is exactly the kind of setting where a community event should feel connected to the environment around it.
That is one of the reasons we are so pleased to be involved. ChoirBLAST has already taken meaningful steps to reduce its environmental impact, including using solar battery power for one of its stages, drawing electricity from nearby buildings where possible, reusing staging and decorations, and carefully sorting waste for recycling.
By providing electric vehicles with V2L capability, we are helping ChoirBLAST take the next step in that journey. It is a practical way to bring cleaner power, lower noise levels and innovative electric vehicle technology into the heart of the festival.
Outdoor events often need reliable power, but traditional diesel generators can be noisy and produce emissions. At a festival built around the sound of choirs filling the streets with music, reducing background noise makes a real difference.
Electric vehicles used in this way are almost silent, helping create a calmer and more enjoyable atmosphere for performers, visitors, residents and local businesses.
They also help reduce the need for fossil-fuelled power on site. For a festival taking place in such a beautiful part of Surrey, every step towards cleaner air and lower emissions matters.
For many people, electric vehicles are still mainly thought of as a way to get from A to B. But modern electric cars can offer much more than that.
Vehicle-to-Load technology is a great example. It shows how an electric vehicle can become a useful source of portable power, whether that is for leisure, work, events, camping, emergencies or community projects like ChoirBLAST.
We are excited to help demonstrate this technology in a real-world setting and show how electric vehicles can support both everyday life and larger community events.
At Shelly Motors, we are passionate about supporting our local community and helping more people understand the benefits of electric driving. Sponsoring ChoirBLAST 2026 gives us the opportunity to do both.
We are proud to be playing a small part in helping the festival become cleaner, quieter and more sustainable, while supporting an event that brings so many people together through music.
If you are curious about electric vehicles, thinking about making the switch, or would simply like to understand more about how technology such as V2L works, our team at Shelly Motors Kia in Epsom would be very happy to help.
We look forward to seeing ChoirBLAST come to life in Godalming on 12th and 13th June 2026.
Come for the choirs, enjoy the atmosphere, and know that some of the power behind the festival is being provided in a cleaner, quieter and more innovative way.
