Kia UK is proud to announce more models are now eligible for the Government Electric Car Grant, including the EV3 for the first time and a new EV4 ‘Motion’ grade.
The Kia EV3 is now available with the Government Electric Car Grant. Kia’s most decorated model of recent times now receives £1,500 off the on-the-road price of both ‘Air’ and ‘GT-Line’ grades.
With the grant applied, the EV3 range now starts from £31,555 on-the-road for the ‘Air’ Standard Range (58.3kWh battery), and the Long Range (81.4kWh battery) starts from £34,555 on-the-road.
The EV3 is the third Kia model eligible for the grant, joining the EV4 and PV5 Passenger that qualified for the grant in December 2025. Each model is only able to receive the grant if it meets strict sustainability and environmental criteria.
The EV3 launched at the end of 2024 with three grades, ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’. Most recently, a dual-motor AWD ‘GT’ variant was also unveiled adding a high-performance option to the line-up, with pricing and specification to be revealed later in 2026.
The EV3 is the most popular and fastest-selling fully electric model Kia has ever launched, winning plaudits from across the world. The EV3 has swept up a vast number of industry and independent awards with highlights including being named the ‘2025 UK Car of the Year’ and ‘2025 World Car of the Year’.
Following the successful launch of the Kia EV4 last year, a new Special Edition model is being introduced. Alongside the EV4 ‘Air’, the EV4 ‘Motion’ also qualifies for the Government Electric Car Grant, reducing the on-the-road cost by £1,500.
Sitting between ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’, the new EV4 ‘Motion’ grade delivers a high specification with key highlights including: an 8-speaker Harmon Kardon Premium Sound System, Unique Cloth and Artificial Leather Upholstery, Outer Rear Heated Seats, Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor and Electric Driver’s Seat and Lumbar Support. Like most grades of EV4, the ‘Motion’ is powered by a 201bhp front-mounted electric motor and 81.4kWh battery.
The EV4 ‘Motion’ receives the same 17-inch alloy wheels and exterior details as the ‘Air’ variant, including body-coloured door mirrors and side sills as well as black wheel arches and silver window surround.
The Kia EV4 ‘Motion’ is available to order now, priced from £38,995 on-the-road, including the £1,500 Electric Car Grant. Exact specifications including range are to follow in due course. The new ‘Motion’ trim level will not be offered on the EV4 Fastback line-up and is available exclusively as a five-door hatchback, manufactured at the brand’s Žilina production plant in Slovakia.
With today’s news, Kia is now able to offer the Kia EV3, EV4 and PV5 Passenger with the Electric Car Grant, enabling more retail and fleet customers to go electric. Each of these models, including the new EV4 grade, are available to order now at Kia dealerships and PBV Centres across the UK. Kia will announce further ECG news in the coming months, while the EV2 is expected to qualify for both Tier 1 and Tier 2.
The UK Government’s Electric Car Grant is exclusively available to electric cars adhering to a strict minimum criteria covering emissions, range, sustainability and warranty support. The ECG criteria requires a manufacturer to have SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) verification, which sets greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below damaging levels, and reach net-zero by 2050 at latest.
Kia will have introduced 15 EV models and 10 HEV models by 2030, while all Kia manufacturing sites will be powered by 100% renewable energy by 2040. The company is pursuing multiple global initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality across the entire product lifecycle by 2045, including achieving RE100, conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for all vehicle models, and strengthening its electrification strategy.
