Kia UK is proud to announce the EV2 as the latest model to join the EV3, EV4 and PV5 Passenger in gaining support from the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG).
From today, the Kia EV2 ‘First Edition’ is now eligible for the £1,500 ECG. The ECG replaces the £1,500 ‘Kia EV2 Reservation Saving’* that was introduced for the EV2 'First Edition' on 1 April, as part of Kia's latest quarterly offers. Now, the £1,500 ECG is available for all EV2 ‘First Edition’ customer orders (retail and fleet).
The £3,750 'Kia EV2 Reservation Saving'* offer continues for the EV2 ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’, with news on ECG eligibility for these variants to come later in the year.
This latest announcement comes just over a week after the Kia EV3 ‘Air’, EV3 ‘GT-Line’ and EV4 ‘Motion’ were named as the latest ECG-qualifying models, each receiving the Tier 2 £1,500 saving. Now, the EV2 and these models join the EV4 ‘Air’, and PV5 Passenger ‘Essential’ and ‘Plus’ grades that were Kia’s first qualifying models in December 2025.
The Kia EV2 ‘First Edition’ introduces the brand’s newest electric SUV to UK customers with a high-spec, great-value package built exclusively for Europe. Powered by a 42.2kWh Standard Range battery, it delivers up to 190 miles of range (WLTP 'combined’) and 10–80% charging in just 29 minutes.
As the first EV2 variant to reach the UK, it adds premium features including 18-inch alloys, adaptive LED headlights, 8-speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Sound System, wireless charging, advanced driver assistance technologies and a 15-litre ‘frunk’ (front storage). Now qualifying for Tier 2 of the ECG, the ‘First Edition’ benefits from a £1,500 reduction on its £28,495 on-the-road price, reducing the cost to £26,995 on-the-road, with order books open now ahead of first deliveries later in 2026.

The UK Government’s Electric Car Grant is exclusively available to electric cars adhering to a strict minimum criteria covering emissions, range, sustainability and warranty support. The ECG criteria requires a manufacturer to have SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) verification, which sets greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below damaging levels, and reach net-zero by 2050 at latest.
