Kia has revealed UK pricing and specifications for the Kia EV2, a fully-electric B-segment SUV offering space for five in Kia’s most compact EV package to date. The EV2 line-up starts at £24,245, on the road (OTR) (1) – and offers one of the longest ranges on a single charge of all EVs under £25,000.
The EV2 is available with a variety of affordable finance options, including an example finance option of £195 per month, in ‘Air’ trim level, which offers the longest possible range for the lowest entry price in the EV2 line-up (2).
Reservations for Kia’s latest EV – designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, exclusively for Europe – are now available and first customer deliveries are due to commence later this year.
The Kia EV2 ‘First Edition’ qualifies for Tier 2 of the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG), taking £1,500 off the OTR price for all customers.
Whilst Kia awaits confirmation that the EV2 ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ will be eligible for the ECG, Kia will ensure through the EV2 Reservation Saving that qualifying customers purchasing these EV2 variants will receive a £3,750 discount on the purchase price.

Officially unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show earlier this year, the Kia EV2 is the brand’s newest entry point into its multi-award winning all electric line-up, consisting of the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9 and PV5. Sitting within the B-SUV compact vehicle segment, the EV2 goes on sale alongside the new Kia Stonic, offering buyers a choice of petrol and electric powertrains in one of Europe’s fastest-growing segments.
Available exclusively as a five-seater in the UK, the EV2 is offered with a choice of two battery options from launch, and combines bold design, advanced technology and everyday versatility, offering the best of Kia in its most compact and affordable car yet.
At a glance
The Kia EV2 is offered in the UK with two lithium-ion battery options from launch. A 42.2kWh standard-range battery pack is offered exclusively on the ‘First Edition’ variant, while a 61.0kWh long-range battery pack is offered exclusively on ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’.
Built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) – a bespoke EV architecture – all variants of the EV2 are powered by a single front-mounted electric motor. In variants equipped with the standard-range battery pack, the electric motor applies 107.5kW (144bhp) through the front wheels, allowing the EV2 to accelerate from 0-to-62mph in 8.7 seconds.
The larger long-range battery pack is paired with a slightly detuned front motor to maximise driving efficiency. This applies 99.5kW (133bhp) through the front wheels, allowing a 0-to-62mph acceleration time of 9.5 seconds (4). All EV2 variants produce 250Nm torque and have a maximum speed of 100mph.
As in the EV3, EV4 and EV5, the Kia EV2 integrates 400V charging technology. This ensures charging stops, when necessary, are minimal hassle. The EV2 standard-range can charge from 10-to-80% in just 29 minutes when plugged into a 150kW DC fast charger (30 minutes on long-range). When plugged into an 11kW AC charger, the EV2 can charge from 10-to-100% in 5 hours and 20 minutes (7 hours and 15 minutes on long-range) (5).
The EV2 follows the exterior design philosophy of Kia’s other recent EVs, with a bold and boxy exterior similar to that of the EV5 and EV9, and measures to boost range and efficiency. Despite being Kia’s smallest and most affordable EV in the UK, all EV2 variants feature Active Air Flaps in the front bumper, which open and close automatically to optimise cooling efficiency and maximise aerodynamic performance. As well as flush door handles, the EV2 features a front motor undercover, side sills undercover and rear suspension undercover, each working in harmony with the exterior design to endow the EV2 with a drag coefficient of just 0.29Cd.
All variants of the EV2 are 1,800mm wide, and ‘Air’ and ‘First Edition’ variants are 1,575mm tall and 4,060mm long. ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ are slightly taller and longer, at 1,585mm tall and 4,065mm long due to a slightly more pronounced rear overhang. All variants feature short front and rear overhangs, ideal for urban driving and navigating tight streets and car parks. The relatively long 2,565mm wheelbase maximises interior space, paired with a totally flat floor.
Despite sitting in the same B-SUV vehicle segment as the recently refreshed Kia Stonic, the EV2 – in ‘Air’ or ‘First Edition’ trim levels – is 40mm wider and 100mm taller than the Stonic, although 100mm shorter in overall length.
Offered in the UK exclusively as a five-seater, the EV2 has been designed from the ground-up to transport a driver and up to four passengers, as well as all luggage, in style and comfort. It offers 1,056mm and 973mm of front and rear legroom; and 1,020mm and 973mm of front and rear headroom.
All variants of EV2 have 362 litres of boot space with all seats in place. With the second row of seats folded, this extends to 1,201 litres of storage space. ’First Edition’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ variants of EV2 feature a 15-litre frunk, ideal for charging cable storage
Despite being Kia’s smallest and most affordable EV to date, Kia has ensured that every version of EV2 comes with the latest and greatest of Kia’s technology offerings. This includes Kia’s new connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), integrated into the dual 12.3-inch display and infotainment screens. This allows for wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, a range of on-demand features, and a smooth and refined user experience. The EV2's displays also integrate an additional 5.3-inch climate control touchscreen, accompanied by physical rocker switches on the centre fascia to quickly control heating and ventilation.
The EV2 is also the latest Kia model to offer the brand’s AI Personal Assistant. First rolled out on the EV3, customers can use the AI assistant to interact with and control the vehicle’s features directly and intuitively. The integration of generative AI also makes Kia’s voice assistant even more capable. Generative AI comprehends complex contexts through natural language understanding, enabling it to ‘chat’ naturally with users. Activated by saying “Hey Kia”, the AI assistant can support travel planning, suggest stop-off points and POI information, and answer FAQs regarding the owner’s manual. It can also provide entertainment, such as music recommendations, voice games, jokes and trivia questions. Continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates will enhance the AI assistant over time, making the system more intelligent and adding greater functionality.
The AI Personal Assistant will be free of charge for one year, before becoming a paid feature.
Every EV2 comes equipped with Kia CarPay and Plug & Charge as standard, and free of charge. CarPay allows drivers to locate and pay for parking through the vehicle’s central infotainment screen, while Plug & Charge streamlines the charging process. When the EV2 is connected to a Plug & Charge-compatible charge station, the charging session can be activated automatically with no need to authorise via charging card or app.
Also offered on the EV2 are a variety of Kia Upgrades, available via the Kia Connect Store. This includes special display themes, taking personalisation to the next level, arcade games, and three different levels of entertainment packages. When parked, these give customers access to music streaming via Amazon Music or Soundcloud, Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and other entertainment services via the main infotainment screen. Services can be interacted with via the central infotainment screen.
As with all Kia EVs, the EV2 comes equipped as standard with a generous range of exterior and interior design features, onboard tech and practicality, and active and passive safety systems.
The Kia EV2 joins its electric siblings, the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6 and EV9 in Kia’s multi award-winning EV line-up. From conception, the Kia EV2 has been designed to fulfil the needs of European drivers, and from launch will be manufactured and sold exclusively in Europe, joining the Sportage, EV4 five-door hatchback and XCeed on the brand’s European production line in Žilina, Slovakia.
The first opportunity to experience the Kia EV2 will be at the brand’s nationwide ‘First Drive Weekend’ events, running from 16 April to 26 June 2026, spanning almost all 190 of Kia’s UK dealers. Each dealer will host a structured, high-quality experience designed to showcase the EV2 ‘First Edition’ via a one-to-one walkaround with an EV2 product expert and a 30 minute accompanied test drive along a planned route.
The Kia EV2 is available with a 3.9% APR finance offer and no minimum customer deposit. It is additionally available with the new £500 EV2 Family Upgrade offer. Ideal for customers considering the EV2 as a second car, this offer takes £500 off the on-the-road price and is available to existing Kia Finance customers (7) with no trade-in requirement.
