Adding to its already stacked cabinet of UK awards, the Kia EV3 has been named ‘Compact Crossover/Small SUV of the Year’ at the Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) Awards.

Founded in 1997, the Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) awards celebrate the best cars on-sale today. More than a year on from its UK launch, the EV3 remains a popular choice in the UK, standing out in the highly competitive compact crossover market. The EV3 is Kia’s third best-selling model in the UK so far this year, sitting behind the Sportage and Picanto.

Offering a range of up to 375 miles* on a single charge, the Kia EV3 blends long range and high levels of family-suitable space into a compact package, currently Kia’s most compact EV built on its electric-Global Modular Platform. This platform allows for a totally flat floor, with the 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh battery pack stored below the cabin, boosting overall space and giving the EV3 a real sense of space, regardless of seating position.

Ally Ballingall, ASMW President: “The Kia EV3 took home the Compact Crossover/SUV award for delivering big-car capability in a smaller, more affordable electric package. Judges were impressed by its strong range, punchy performance and class-leading practicality. Its well-executed cabin, generous tech and confident road manners set it apart from rivals. With standout value and maturity beyond its size, the EV3 proved a clear winner.”

2025 has been one of Kia’s busiest years in its 34-year UK lifespan, welcoming new, cutting-edge EV models to sit alongside the EV3, such as the EV4 and EV4 Fastback, the EV5, and Kia’s first ever ‘Platform Beyond Vehicle’ (PBV), the PV5 – offered in both Cargo or Passenger variants. Beyond EVs, Kia has also welcomed a facelifted version of its best-seller, the Sportage, to the UK, and will soon launch the new Stonic and the K4, an all-new entrant to the C-segment hatchback market. First examples of the EV4, EV5, PV5, new Stonic and K4 are all due to arrive to UK customers before the end of the year.

Kia has also been busy dominating the sales charts in 2025. Currently Kia ranks as the fourth best-selling brand in the UK so far this year with more than 103,000 new cars sold. Kia is also Scotland’s third best-selling car brand, with a 6.8% share of the Scottish market. The Sportage remains a firm favourite as the UK’s second best-selling car year-to-date, and the UK’s best-selling SUV. Kia has sold more than 43,000 so far in 2025.
