Kia UK is proud to announce the launch of its nationwide ‘First Drive Weekend’ events, giving customers across the country the very first opportunity to test drive the Kia EV2.

Running from 16 April to 27 June 2026, the events will move across almost the entire 190-strong Kia UK dealer network, offering exclusive early access to Kia’s next landmark in electric mobility.

The ‘First Drive Weekend’ series embodies the power of firsts: the first chance to experience the EV2, the first opportunity to explore Kia’s next‑generation electric design philosophy, and the first step for many drivers into Kia’s rapidly expanding EV line‑up. With limited spaces available at each location, customers are encouraged to secure their place early via the official booking website: https://www.kia.com/uk/about/kia-electric-experience/.

Each ‘First Drive Weekend’ event runs on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with participating dealerships hosting a structured, high‑quality experience designed to showcase the EV2. The events are designed to feel personal, informative, and memorable, offering an exclusive first look at the new model.

The Experience

Guests will enjoy exclusive access through limited, pre‑booked one‑hour slots, with four generously equipped EV2 42.2kWh cars available at each location, enabling up to four simultaneous test drives.

Each appointment begins with a one‑to‑one walkaround with an EV2 product expert, offering detailed insight, a guided introduction to the EV2, and time for questions.

This is followed by a thorough half-hour accompanied test drive on a planned route, giving customers a meaningful first taste of the EV2’s performance, refinement, and technology across a variety of road types.

After returning to the dealership, guests are welcome to continue conversations with the dealer sales team or explore the Kia range in the showroom.

The Kia EV2

The EV2 is Kia’s most compact EV to-date and has been designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, exclusively for European drivers. It is designed to bring upper‑segment technology, long‑range capability, and everyday versatility to the highly competitive compact SUV segment. Built in Slovakia and positioned as Kia’s most accessible EV, it stands apart from rivals by combining best‑in‑class practicality with features rarely seen at its price point.

At just over four metres long, the EV2 delivers generous interior space thanks to its dedicated EV platform, including up to 362 litres of boot capacity; a packaging advantage few competitors match. Two battery options (42.2kWh and 61.0kWh) deliver anticipated best-in-class range. Built on Kia’s 400V E-GMP architecture, the EV2 supports DC rapid charging on both battery options, allowing the EV2 to charge from 10-to-80% in 30 minutes.

The EV2 also brings technologies typically reserved for larger, more expensive EVs to the compact SUV segment: triple‑screen infotainment, OTA updates, Digital Key, Plug & Charge, V2L and V2G capability, and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. A segment first, Remote Smart Parking Assist Entry allows the vehicle to be manoeuvred from outside using the smart key.

With its bold ‘Opposites United’ design, European production, and with a focus on the use of sustainable materials, the EV2 introduces a level of sophistication, flexibility, and connected capability that positions it as one of the most advanced and user‑friendly compact electric SUVs on the market.

UK pricing and specifications for the Kia EV2 will be revealed soon, with first customer deliveries expected later this year.

Leading customer electrification

The latest EV2 ‘First Drive Weekend’ events build on Kia’s previous dealer-led electric experience events, which have helped introduce the Kia EV3, EV6, EV9 and Niro EV across the nation in their inaugural sales years. These events are proven to help customers gain hands-on experience with the cars at a very early stage, and helping answer general questions about going electric. Last year’s EV4 and EV5 ‘Electric Experience’ events welcomed more than 15 thousand reservations to attend, clearly indicating their value and the interest in Kia electric cars.
