Launched in Q4 last year, this digital feature is designed to make your car truly pet‑friendly, giving owners peace of mind whenever they need to step away.
Pet Mode can be accessed through the infotainment menu in the central touchscreen. Simply navigate through the tiles and tap ‘Pet Mode’ (EV5). For Pet Mode to function, the vehicle must be placed in Park with all windows and doors closed. Once within the menu, select the desired temperature and press ‘Start’. Once the system is ready, Pet Mode will activate when the doors are locked from outside the vehicle within 5 minutes.
While Pet Mode is active, the display shows a cheerful message—“I am waiting for my owner”—alongside an animated pet graphic and a live readout of the cabin temperature. It’s a reassuring touch that lets passersby know your pet is safe and cared for. For added convenience, you can monitor and adjust Pet Mode directly through the Kia App, ensuring your pet’s comfort is always at your fingertips.
Currently, Pet Mode is exclusive to the EV5, but Kia has hinted that future models may include this feature as well.
