Kia UK announces new partnership with The Children’s Society

  • New national partnership with The Children’s Society, expanding Kia UK’s community support across England and Wales.
  • £1 donation per car sold, generating a substantial annual contribution.
  • Focus on vulnerable children and young people, providing early mental health support, safe spaces, and brighter futures.
  • Fundraising initiatives and awareness campaigns planned, with opportunities for staff and customers to participate.
  • Paul Philpott, Kia UK President & CEO, to run the 2026 London Marathon in support of the partnership.

Kia UK is proud to announce a new national charity partnership with The Children’s Society, marking the next chapter in the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting communities across the UK.

By joining forces, Kia and the Charity aim to tackle some of the urgent issues facing today’s children and young people.

The partnership will see Kia UK donate one pound to The Children’s Society for every car sold, arriving at a substantial annual donation. Kia registered just under 113,500 (113,436) vehicles during 2025.

The new collaboration will help fund The Children’s Society services which provide vital support to children and young people across England and Wales. This nationwide reach reflects Kia UK’s ambition to broaden its charitable impact after the conclusion of a four-year partnership with the Surrey Wildlife Trust, which focused on environmental education and conservation initiatives throughout Surrey.

While Kia UK’s proud partnership with the Surrey Wildlife Trust delivered significant benefits for local communities, schools, and conservation projects across the county, by contrast, The Children’s Society provides vital support nationwide to vulnerable children and young people across England and Wales. This transition reflects Kia UK’s ambition to broaden its charitable impact, ensuring that its support reaches families and communities throughout the country.

Kia UK’s commitment to sustainability and responsibility extends beyond its vehicles. By joining forces with The Children’s Society, Kia aims to create lasting impact in communities nationwide, ensuring that young people have the support they need to thrive.

The partnership will include fundraising initiatives, awareness campaigns, and opportunities for Kia UK employees and customers to get involved, such as by volunteering at one of the Children’s Society’s 103 nationwide shops. Together, Kia UK and The Children’s Society will work to build brighter futures for children across the country.

A young person who used one of The Children's Society's early support hubs, said: “I was nervous, because I hadn't done anything like this before and I thought they’re going to start asking me so many questions and I wouldn’t know what to say. But when I went in, everyone was smiling and just in a good vibe.

“After that first session, I would come every week and just tell her [the support worker] every week what happened to me, how I was feeling and everything. Most of the time I was feeling good. I was feeling better because it was a place that I could go and just drop it all and then when I left, I had nothing else on my chest to go home with.”

CEO of The Children’s Society, Mark Russell, said: “We are so proud to join forces with Kia UK on a mission to transform young people's lives, and help ensure they don't face pressures alone. Kia UK is stepping up to make a difference by helping us provide more young people with vital early mental health support.

“Together we will shine a powerful spotlight on the challenges young people are going through and ensure they receive help before reaching crisis point. Our partnership will raise funds to deliver more safe spaces where young people can talk to someone who will listen and give them the essential skills and hope for a brighter future. Together Kia UK and The Children's Society will drive change for young people!”

Paul Philpott, President & CEO, Kia UK Limited, who has committed to participating in the 2026 London Marathon to raise money for the new charity partnership, commented: “We couldn’t be prouder to partner with this leading charity. It saddens us to recognise that across the UK, so many children are suffering unseen and unheard, struggling with mental health, living in poverty, and in danger from exploitation and abuse. The Children’s Society supports a brighter future for all children, and we know what a difference Kia UK’s contribution will make towards furthering the cause. Together we can help build a society where all children can thrive, not just survive.

“On behalf of all at Kia UK, I’d like to thank the Surrey Wildlife Trust for our partnership over the past four years. Supporting nature and our local environment is core to our philosophy and wellbeing and we wish them every good fortune for the future.”

Kia UK’s charitable heritage

Kia UK has a proud history of working with charities that make a tangible difference to people’s lives. Over the past decade, Kia has partnered with a range of organisations, reflecting its values of sustainability, community, and care.

Kia UK staff have a longstanding history of consistent fundraising, volunteering, and participating in awareness campaigns that reinforce Kia UK’s culture of responsibility and care. Some highlights include:

  • Surrey Wildlife Trust
A four-year partnership dedicated to protecting local habitats and engaging young people in environmental education. Over a period of four years, Kia UK donated over £350,000 to local nature recovery, with the money being used in several strategic areas including habitat restoration and community action. In 2024, Kia UK became a founding partner of ‘Save Surrey’s Nature’: a one-million-pound appeal.
  • The Children’s Trust
In 2017, Kia UK previously partnered with the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury and neurodisability. That collaboration focused on raising awareness and vital funds to support rehabilitation, education, and community services for young people and their families.
  • Charity collaborations
Kia UK has supported many national and local initiatives, from health-focused campaigns to community outreach projects, ensuring its contributions align with both employee values and customer expectations. Events included a sponsored 1,000-mile trek undertaken by 65 employees in 2016 to raise over £20,000 for Walton Charity.
  • The ‘Kia New Future Fund’
In 2015, Kia UK staff completed a six‑week Grand Tour of Europe challenge, collectively walking 33,318 miles – tracked by Fitbits© worn by 160 employees – and raised £33,000 for Walton Charity. The charity matched the sum to help create the £66,000 ‘Kia New Futures Fund’, which was used to support local disadvantaged children and families.
